Who doesn’t love photographing a young couple in love….and their dog! Chancing the December weather in Plymouth, MA I walked around the quiet town just before Christmas with Matt, Sara and their dog Lily. No one minded the overcast sky or the unseasonably warm temperatures as we strolled through the seaside historic town stopping every now and then to capture this gorgeous couple.
As my first blog post I’ll use this one to tell you a little about how I approach photographing couples. Matt and Sara have hired me to be their wedding photographer for their September wedding. As an added bonus I was able to take their engagement photos and this was my time to really get to know them better as a couple. Through casual conversation I learned that they love the Red Sox and practiced posing before our session. While this may make you laugh I give them credit because I had to do very little work to get beautiful, natural looking images. They are the type of couple you want to hire you, they are in love and fun and had no problem ignoring me and focusing on each other as we captured the day.
This short period of time will be valuable for me to prepare for their wedding day. We now have a rapport, I know more about their style and likes and we all have a comfort level that will make photographing their wedding day that much more fun! I also had the pleasure of meeting their Lily. She was definitely a good sport and for the most part played along with us, until she saw a flock of ducks, then we lost her attention!
I hope you enjoy Matt & Sara’s engagement photos as much as I’ve enjoyed taking them.
